Now you can experience the TED conference live from anywhere in the world. As part of our Associate Membership program, you can join our live conference webcast and create a private TED event for yourself and 10 of your friends — to share the experience of TED as it unfolds. Memberships now available for TED2010, Feb. 9-13, 2010. Sign up by Monday, Feb. 8, at 6pm PST. See the speaker program for TED2010 »
But more than that, you’ll be part of a year-round TED experience that includes conference DVDs, our famed TED Book Club and other special touches. Members may continue to renew year after year.
The TED Associate Membership Program is open to anyone in the world. You can sign up any day of the year. (You can also give it as a gift; see our FAQ.) $995 buys this virtual front-row seat for TED2010, plus a year’s worth of innovation and inspiration.
Come on, what is going on here??? Is everybody out of there minds these days? TED, one of my favorite projects, offers the best speeches on the planet. It is run by a “non-profit” foundation and the biggest brands lick their fingers to sponsor this event.
To attend TED, you have to get invited, which I understand. That is the exclusivity. I bet literally millions of people around the world enjoy TED talks every day. So why the f**k is it necessary to make the live stream a thousand bucks???
THIS IS SO STUPID. TED should instead provide an online place for all the TED lovers and contributors to gather and share and connect while watching.
What huge potential is lost here…
